Rising Junior About a 3.5 GPA (working on it) Will have 200+ hours of community service by the time i start applying Participating in JROTC the next two years May try out for sports next year. If not, deffiently one of the JROTC teams (drill/academic/markesmenship, ect) 3 years of a language, taking math over the summer to i can get ahead academically, with a heavy course load the next two years. Joining a few clubs. Debate team is one of them. So i guess thats pretty much me in a nutshell. I have not taken the SAT yet, and i know i need to work on my GPA a bit. But besides that, how does it look? My dream school was/is (idk, my mind has kind of found a new dream school, even though i dont want it to) the Naval Academy. I want to have a career in the navy, so the Naval Academy seemed like a great choice for me. Though i know my chances are getting in are slim to none. After that i was looking at VMI/VT, but i was never in love with either of them. Recently i began looking at University of Washington, and i do think that is my dream school. I wanted to get as far away as i could from virginia (my state), so my first three choices before were not too good. I LOVE big cities. I LOVE the rain. and I LOVE the ocean. So i have two main questions: 1. What's the admissions like for the University of Washington? Average GPA admitted? I looked online, and it said that it's acceptance rate was like 58%. 2. What are my chances of getting a Full Navy Scholarship? I know that my JNROTC will help me with that, and as long as i keep up my GPA, continue on with communty service, ect, will i have a problem? I can't afford the 25k or so a year it is for UW. A Navy ROTC scholarship is my only chance for it. Could playing a sport be the decision maker on whether i get a scholarship or not? Im not a big sports fan. Ive played soccer for several years, but not for the school. I dont know if i would like to play a sport for school. Right. Sorry this took so long. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.... Read More »
